GLOBAL EDUCATION ASSESSMENT TOOLS
Intercultural Knowledge and Competence VALUE Rubric
VALUE rubric helps students think about and reflect on their cultural competencies. Additionally it helps teachers develop lessons that focus on student voice and inquiry.
For me the VALUE rubric is the most useful for my settling with health, physical education and being a resource to help my colleagues globalize their classroom because it focuses on the student perspective. This focus helps guide the teacher to develop strong student centered globalized lessons. |
The Global Education ChecklistIs an extensive assessment for use by teachers to evaluate where their classes are in relation to global issues, global culture and global connections. This is a very teacher centered approach and does not incorporate student voice.
This assessment tool is useful for teachers, school administrators, and district administrators to assess the level of global education in their classrooms and schools. |
Global Competence MatrixThe Global Competence Matrix, created by the Asia Society Partnership for Global Learning, provides comprehensive definitions for the four global competencies – investigate the world, recognize perspectives, communicate ideas, and take action. This provides a strong macro perspective on assessment of global education.
Useful for teachers to assess if lessons and unit plans are helping students to improve their global competence. |
